Jake

11-19-16 Hooray, Jake was adopted today!! Jake was "on the road" all alone out in the country until he happened upon a nice man that was working on his camper. Out popped Jake from under the camper and nearly scared the nice man to death! The nice man's wife recognized he was no ordinary dog so they took him in for a month and searched high and low for the owner to no avail. That was when United Yorkie Rescue stepped in to give Jake the medical care and home he needed. He is the happiest little fellow and now he will finally have a forever home of his own. He has a stay at home mom and dad who are ready to shower him with all the love and attention and care he could ever want. They will take him wherever they go that a sweet dog like Jake can go. He will get to go to the dog park, and go for car rides, and have lots of toys and fun in his new and wonderful forever home.

Goldie and new family
Goldie - Muffin

11-19-16 Sweet 3.5 year old Goldie was adopted today. She went to a wonderful family and now she will be the only dog getting all the love and all the attention. Goldie was found dumped in the middle of a country road in southwest Virginia. The family that took her in took her took her to the vet found out that she was not chipped and had no collar or identification. They could not find her original owners after contacting local Animal Control, shelters, and putting up flyers. They could not keep Goldie and contacted United Yorkie Rescue. How sad to be only 3 years old and to have gone from one home to another home and again to another home. She is such a sweet girl, she loves to be petted and cuddled and held and now all that will be happening for her. She has a family that will give her time to adjust to her new home and family with patience and kindness. She has a work from home mom, some really nice older kids to hang around with, a nice fenced yard, and lots and lots of love and kisses. Goldie is so happy. She knows she is home for good.

11-6-16 Hello, it me Bridgette. I was adopted today. I have a new mom and dad and they won't be traveling and leaving me alone like what happened to me in my last home. I won't have to stay in a crate all day for a really long time. That made me pretty sad. Now I have a new family with a mom and dad who are home all the time. I even have a fur brother to hang out with. I am so excited because I love being around my people and having lots of love and attention. I am one happy girl again. My foster mom said this home would be my really true forever home. Hooray for me!

Max

10/31/16 Max came to UYR with somewhat of an ambiguous past since being found as a stray and taken in by a family. After that family member passed away, Max found himself in a home with several children who were very lively, and not to Max's liking. So he went to another home where other, bigger dogs were taking much advantage of him. In order to provide Max with a better life, his owner then surrendered him to UYR.

Today, Max has hit the jackpot! He has found a wonderful furever home with Tom and Donna, and his new sister Lilly Bell. Although he will be truly missed at his foster parent's home, they know he is truly blessed to have been adopted by his new family. Max will definitely learn what it means to be loved and spoiled. Congratulations, Tom, Donna, Lilly Bell, and most of all, Max!

Hunter and new parents
NC Hunter

8-29-16 Hunter of North Carolina has been adopted! Tiny, sweet Hunter found his perfect forever home. He was sadly tossed away into the shelter when his days as a breeder dog were over. There was no way United Yorkie Rescue was going to let that be the end of Hunter. He was taken into his foster home and given the care he so badly needed. Little Hunter found his furever with a wonderful couple. He will be the only one, and there are two beautiful teenager girls that are just so happy to fill the void in their hearts after loosing their little Yorkie in June due to illness. They were smothering him with love and kisses. Hunter's new mom works from home so he very rarely is left alone. He had a new crate, new toys, and an entire counter top full of his favorite treats and food. He's all set to meet his new vet on Thursday. Hunter has a nice little back yard and he has a sidewalk where he can walk with Mom and the girls to visit all the neighbors in their little community. Hunter's foster mom left him in his new dad's arms and they were bonding nicely as Mom was preparing him a snack. Happy Tails for a Happy Pup and brand new family and a furever home.

Romeo and new family
Romeo

10/26/16 Romeo is a 18-month-old, very active, escape artist, who was surrendered to UYR because he kept escaping and running around the neighborhood. He is very affectionate and loves his people; however, he definitely needed a fenced in yard! Today, he has found that with a loving family, and tells us: "I've been found by my forever family. I have a brother that UYR rescued a year ago, and I will be joining him! I feel safe and loved. I will even get to go to work with my mom. I am going to work on becoming a comfort/therapy pup for the elderly. Just looking forward to the holiday with my wonderful family."

Hugs, Romeo

Precious and new mom
Precious

10/23/16 Precious was adopted today. We weren't sure it would happen for her. This sweet, little girl who most likely has the beginning stages of Kidney Disease seemed to have found her second life. After almost 4 months in her foster home, with a special diet and kidney supplements, and with stable kidney levels, she may just have several years of a good life left. Her new mom and dad are familiar with dogs with kidney issues and they know just how to take care of Precious. She will have a wonderful life with them. When they met her they couldn't believe this pup is 11 years old. She looks and acts like a dog half her age. If you didn't know she was not totally healthy, you would never know because she is active and lively and happy and funny. Precious will be missed by her foster parents, but she is in her new home and it is truly her forever home until the very end of her days. Happy Tails sweet Precious. Wishing you years and years of a happy, healthy, good life with your new family and your new fur sister.

Kaci

10-22-16 Kaci, this wonderful, sweet, little blind girl found her perfect forever home. This little foxy looking girl had been though so much in her short life. Kaci found herself in the shelter and no longer had a home to call her own. What is worse is that both her eyes had severe cataracts and she couldn't see. Her left eye was bulging out of its socket and needed to be surgically removed as soon as possible. Her right eye was cloudy and covered with a cataract. This all was so unusual for a dog this young and we knew we had to help her and get her out of that shelter right away and get her eyes taken care of. We owed her a chance. And Kaci got that chance. She had her left eye removed and sadly her right eye could not be saved since the cataract was too far advanced and we knew Kaci would always be blind. BUT that did not bother Kaci one bit, she is the happiest, sweetest, most loving dog and all she needed was her forever home and that finally happened. It would have been hard not to love this well-behaved, adorable girl. Her forever mom knew right away that Kaci had to be hers and now she is. Kaci has her forever family which includes a wonderful mom and a new fur brother. Kaci even has a fenced yard so she can go outside and never get lost. What a wonderful happy ending for this pup. No one ever deserved it more than she.

Olive

10-17-16 Olive was adopted today and has gone to live in her perfect forever home with her stay at home mom and her fur sister. She has a big fenced yard too. Olive will always look perfect because her mom is a groomer. Olive had cataracts in both eyes and the kindness of the lady, who took her out of the shelter where she ended up, provided her with much needed cataract surgery. Although this lady loved her she had big dogs and was worried that little Olive who could now see, but still not that well would get hurt unintentionally. She called United Yorkie Rescue to find her just the right home. Olive came into her foster home where she continued to recover from her surgery and get healthy. She needed to put some weight on her way too skinny body and her hair, which she lost from fleas and her time on the streets, needed to grow back in. Olive is such a wonderful, happy girl despite all she has gone through in her short 5 years of life. Now she will know love and kindness and caring the rest of her days. It really really is such a happy tails for this sweet girl.

Bella and new family
Bella

10/15/16 Bella is Adopted! As you know, Bella came to UYR as an owner surrender on 09/28/16. She iss a 4-year-old, 8 lb. sweetheart who was very much loved by her owners. She loves to travel, and since she had separation anxiety, needed home where someone was home most of the time or could take her with them. She is housebroken and a sweetheart full of love. It didn't take long for Bella to find her forever home! She now resides with Charles, Alyssa, Irwin, and their other adopted fur babies!

Meet Charles and Alyssa, and one of their adopted sons Irwin, as well as Dub and Fender, their adopted furbabies. As you can see, these wonderful people and their love for adoption comes in many forms. You can not help but just fall in love and know, as Bella did, she found her forever home. Charles, being a Nurse Practioner and Alyssa, a police dispatcher, have a love of the theater and arts and are very involved in the children arts as well. My sweet Bella has taken charge over "the boys." Running and playing had already begun before day 1 came to an end. Thank you Charles and Alyssa for loving and choosing Bella! I look forward to seeing her pics and this family blend. God bless you all!
